The lane, the walnut trees, the old farmhouse standing quietly at the end of it. Everything was already here. Everything, that is, except the vines.

Visitors to this place - friends & family - noticed it first  "a vineyard would belong here". They kept saying it. And slowly, we started to believe them.

By then, we'd already fallen for wine ourselves — its soil, its stories, the strange alchemy of place and patience that makes a bottle taste like somewhere. And looking around, the evidence was everywhere: for years, winemakers across the Land of Herve, the Voer region, and South Limburg had been quietly proving that this unlikely northern corner could grow some outstanding wines.

So in 2020, we planted our first vines — 1,400 of them, a modest trial. Auxerrois, pinot gris, pinot noir, chardonnay: varieties that, elsewhere in the region, had already found their footing. Today, our first wines are sleeping in the cellar, waiting their turn.

What started as a passing remark became something larger: a wish to gather people around a table, a glass, a shared curiosity. To pour our own wine alongside a small, considered selection from the winemakers around us.

Strouvenbosch, in its own quiet way, as the region's enoteca — tastings built for small groups, unhurried, personal.
